Heavy Water

Heavy Water is a Christchurch based jazz quartet lead by guitarist, Heather Webb. After graduating from CPIT MusicArts (formerly CPIT Jazz School), Heather is currently studying her Jazz Performance Honours with tutoring from Auckland based guitarist, Dixon Nacey. Heavily influenced by the modern New York sound, this concert will showcase Heather’s latest arrangements of tunes from the standard jazz repertoire. Featuring remarkable musicians Dominic Spiteri (piano), Bradley Grainger (Bass) and Daniel Pawsey (Drums), this ensemble promises to deliver a fresh, exciting concert not to be missed.

Mechanalog

Tom Harris and Michael Thompson are both graduates of the Christchurch Jazz School. They started jamming together in 2014 to explore the possibilities of a duo setting between Keyboard and Drums incorporating electronic elements, with a focus on improvising, and exploring the full spectrum of dynamics from dreamy ambiance to high intensity techno rock. In 2015 fellow graduate Chris Wethey joined the group on Bass/Synth Bass, expanding the group’s scope and sound. Influences of Mechanalog include: Mehliana, Now Vs Now, James Blake, Dorian Concept, Sean Wayland.
