We’d be stoked for you to join us at the opening of CAP’D: Paper Trail, held at Fiksate Gallery & Studio, New Brighton!

The low down:
CAP’D is an exhibition of work by graffiti, street, post-graffiti and urban contemporary artists, affording a forum for the incredibly varied styles, ideas and approaches that exist within this diverse sphere of urban art. Each year we bring together a representation of local, national and international artists through various networks, ranging from young up and comers to experienced artists.

Previous shows have been well attended and have featured work by artists from around the world and New Zealand, such as Tilt, Aleix Gordo Hostau, Component, Sean Duffell, Jacob Yikes, Ikarus, Joel Rickerby, as well as a host of emerging artists from Christchurch and further afield.

This year we will expand this representation, and continue to grow the exhibition in size and significance. CAP’D is a unique part of Christchurch’s arts calendar, providing the local graffiti and street art scene with a collective exposure, as well as affording a broad scope of work from across the country and globe, adding a wider comparative context.

This year, CAP’D: Paper Trail will explore works on and of paper and card, providing a thematic link throughout the show. Within this concept, we aim for a diverse range of work – from prints to drawings and paintings, extending to paste-ups, books, zines and even sculptural constructions.

CAP’D is hosted by Fiksate Gallery in New Brighton, Christchurch, a studio/exhibition space run by artists and writers with diverse backgrounds. Check out www.fiksate.com/events
