PHAT08 Review 4 days, 5 nights of non-stop DnB, Breaks, Dubstep, Dub/Reggae, Hip Hop and more...What a rinse out!!I could barely speak anymore at the end of Phat08 this new years when I rolled off the mess left in rural Inangahua on January 2nd. I struggled to walk and felt about as rinsed out as it gets as we rolled out to the sounds of D-Bridge rolling the last set of the festival. It took me over a week to recover and I would never be the same again. Was it all worth it? HELL YES! This years Phat festival was in my mind no doubt the best they have had yet. Highlights for me musically were The Upbeats (sick NZ DnB as per-usual), The Freestylers (bringing in the cheesy-breaks party vibe on New Years), Vex'd (demonic german dubstep RIPPING apart New Years and scaring many a wide-eyed punter away), Black Planet (up and coming live DnB from Queenstown), The Roll TV crew featuring bad man Billy Fluid on the mic, Black Sun Empire, Agent Alvin, Antiform and many many more killer live acts and DJs!! (To many to say in one review!!) Orginisation was much better then last year too... Pretty much no queue (all though we did get to go through the VIP car check.... oooooh yeeeeaah hahaha), lots of drunk and mashed up people and lots of girls in short shorts. Flushing toilets and showers definitely added to the luxury of it even though 5 minutes after your shower you felt dirty again due to the EXTREME heat!! All and all an awesome time all around... Bring on Phat09 I say!!
